My husband and I recently took a trip to England and Italy. We were traveling for about 2 1/2 weeks. It is hard to sum up this trip but ultimately Italy was everything I hoped it would be. John was great and went through hundreds of pictures and posted them on his flickr. Go check them out! Here are a few of my highlights…
We stayed mostly in Cinque Terre. This is an area on the west coast with small villages that you can hike or boat between. I’ll tell you – it was hard to pick where to go in Italy but we wanted to soak in one place and we wanted it to be kind of quiet (i.e. not a big city). We were not disappointed here!
Monterroso is kind of divided into a new section and an old section joined by a tunnel. We stayed at a great Bed and Breakfast called Villa Cristina. This was the biggest town so there were plenty of restaurant options and the beach was great!
Most towns are accessible by boat, train, and trail so sometimes they’d get pretty busy! One town, Corniglia, did not have a ferry marina so it was nice and quiet. It was also one of the smallest towns and ended up being one of our favorites.
Words are escaping me as I go through all of our pictures. Ultimately our trip to Italy was a dream come true. We celebrated five years of being together in a beautiful country. What more could I ask for?
Coming up soon is our England part of the trip and lots of stuff I’m sewing!!!
